<p>A medical plug has first and second relatively large end portions joined by a relatively small linking structure. The plug is preferably highly deformable and resilient so that it can be applied by deforming an end portion, passing that deformed end portion through a body tissue hole to be plugged, and then allowing the deformed end portion to resume its original shape. When installed, each end portion of the plug is on a respective opposite side of the body tissue wall having the hole to be plugged, and the linking structure passes through that hole. The plug can be installed intralumenally and/or remotely if desired.</p> |
