<p>Prevention and/or treatment of bacterial infections is achieved through the administration of a pharmaceutical composition which includes and/or enhances the formation of NO in body fluids, such as urine and vaginal secretions. Said composition comprises at least one pharmaceutically suitable acidifying agent and a reduction agent. Preferably said composition further comprises a source of nitrate. The pharmaceutical composition can be administered e.g. in the form of a lozenge, an effervescent tablet to be dissolved in water, a solution etc.</p> |
