The inorganic foam insulating material comprises silicon oxide and/or aluminium oxide, an alkali metal waterglass hardener and a hydrogen peroxide foaming agent. The equipment consists of an assembled piping length or several parallel piping lengths, each including integral shut-off, regulating and/or monitoring devices, especially for the feed and return lines of water heating units. The front of the housing has openings for insertion of handles, timers and similar installation components, for coupling to the or each piping length, and allows access to the ends of the or each piping length. Preferably, the inorganic foam consists of a finely divided oxide mixture of silica, talc, mica, bauxite and optionally electrostatic filter ash, preferably a solids mixture of metakaolin, mica, talc, silica, cement and inorganic fibres.
