The power supply has two switching elements located in series which are wired in parallel with a smoothing condenser connected to a rectifier. Two diodes are wired in the blocking direction in parallel to the series switching elements. An inductive circuit branch is connected with an inductive element at one end to a connecting point of the switch elements and a load is wired in parallel to the inductive element. A second condenser is wired between the other end of the inductive branch and at least one terminal of the first condenser. The rectifier with its output terminals is wired between the other end of the inductive branch and at least the one terminal of the first condenser.
