<p>Epoxysuccinamide derivatives represented by general formula (I) or salts thereof; processes for the preparation of them; and drugs containing the same as the active ingredient. In said formula, R1 is hydrogen, alkyl or aminoalkyl and R2 is optionally substituted aminoalkyl, optionally substituted aryl, an optionally substituted heterocyclic group, optionally substituted aralkyl or alkyl substituted with an optionally substituted heterocyclic group, or alternatively R?1 and R2¿ together with the nitrogen atom adjacent thereto may form an optionally substituted nitrogenous heterocycle; and R?3 and R4¿ are each independently hydrogen, alkyl or aralkyl. These compounds exhibit a specific inhibitory activity against cathepsin L and cathepsin L family enzymes and thus are useful as, e.g., preventive drugs for diseases of bone metabolism such as osteoporosis, hypercalcemia and so on.</p> |
