The electromagnetically operated hydraulic valve has a ring-shaped end-stop (7) partly surrounded by a magnetic armature (3). The outer cylindrical surface of the ring-shaped end-stop which is first accurately positioned in the axial plane. During assembly, radial force is applied to the magnetic armature. This brings about partial plastic deformation and forces material into the recess (9), locking the relative position of the two components.
