The method involves drying the poultry droppings and litter mixture. The poultry are accommodated on the floor for a predetermined period. At the beginning of the period, the moisture of the droppings and litter mixture is kept relatively low, and thereafter from a predetermined time up to the end of the period, the temperature of the dropping and litter mixture which is increasing in moisture, is kept relatively low. At the beginning of the period, the floor is heated to a relatively high temperature. At the end of the period, the floor is kept to a relatively low temperature.
