Wet electrostatic precipitator with rigidly-held plastic tube electrodes for gas purification

The precipitator has tubular plastic precipitation electrodes, containing rod or wire emission electrodes. These are hung from insulators. A water spray system is included. The tubes are circular in cross section, and are bundled and fastened closely together. Spaces between their upper ends are screened off. In the new construction, the tubes have at least three lugs (for hexagonal packing) around their circumferences, in each of at least two cross-sectional planes. These lugs fit within and project into the gusset-shaped intermediate spaces (8) of the tube bundle. Each lug has a hole (3). Rods (5) running along the bundle, in the spaces intermediate to the tubes, interconnect the lugs.
