<p>A composition comprises an aqueous dispersion of a copolymer of a conjugated diene and allylamine, said copolymer being prepared from a monomer charge comprising from 2 to 30% by weight of allylamine based on the total monomer content, and an incompletely condensed phenolic resin. The co-polymer may additionally contain a further monomer such as styrene. The exemplified phenolic resin is a water-soluble condensate of formaldehyde and resorcinol. A composition of allylamine copolymer and an epoxy resin is also disclosed. This composition is used to treat tyre cords, especially nylon and polyester cords, to improve their adhesion to rubber.ALSO:Tyre cords, especially nylon and polyester cords, are treated with an aqueous dispersion of a copolymer of a conjugated diene and allylamine, said copolymer being prepared from a monomer charge comprising 2 to 30% by weight of allylamine, and an incompletely condensed phenolic resin.
