The method involves setting a linear arrangement of metallic fuse segments (1-5) whose bit combination represents a magnitude of the fuses circuit on a wafer (6). One fuse segment is assigned to the most significant bit (MSB). This segment is neighboured by other segments. The MSB segment is positioned essentially at the middle of the arrangement. The segment representing the least significant bit is situated at one end of the arrangement. The bit significance sinks towards both ends of the layout.
