The seat has a backrest frame (20) to the top of which is attached a carrier (26) for a head support and a belt guide device. The belt guide device is fixed to the carrier, which is between it and the headrest, and may be above the upper crossmember (22) of the backrest frame. The carrier may be spaced away from the upper crossmember in a plane passing through the backrest frame. It may have a guide by which the height of the headrest can be set, with a slot to guide the crossbeam of the headrest, with a slide (28) in it connected to the headrest and the belt guide device.
