The automatic stability control (1) has inputs from wheel speed sensors, steering setting and motion sensors to compute the road grip as well as the stability level. The control determines the safe speed and reduces the speed to that level, without undue reduction below that level. The vehicle corners without loosing grip and without tipping. For low to medium road grip conditions the safe limit of speed increases with increasing road grip. For high levels of road grip there is a cap to the safe speed levels to prevent the vehicle from tipping over.
