Brake control for vehicle

The brake control system has an improved cornering control during which the inside wheels have reduced brake pressure and the outside wheels have enhanced brake pressure. To differentiate between cornering and straight travel, for slight curvatures, the sensor readings (3) for each wheel are processed by the brake control (5) and are stored in a constantly updated memory. At the onset of active braking the state of the vehicle immediately prior to braking is used as the control mode i.e. straight travel or cornering. The brake control monitors the difference in wheel speeds across each axle, the rate of change of the wheel speed difference and the differences between the wheel speed differences of the two axles. This provides a dynamic monitoring.
