PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay station capable of dealing with the congestion of data transmission due to line fault or increase in line traffic, and to provide a data priority transmission system including the relay station. SOLUTION: A transmission station 1 adds identification information of general information or priority information to information to be sent and sends the resulting information to a network 4. A relay station 2 uses an identification information 2-1 to discriminate the information to be the general information or the priority information and stores tentatively the identified information to a general information buffer 2-3 and a priority information buffer 2-4 temporarily. In the case that the network 4 at a reception station 3 of the relay station 2 has a line fault or traffic of the priority information is high and the capacity of the priority information buffer 3-4 is occupied in excess an overflow margin, the relay station 2 and the reception station 3 or a relay station 2' close to the reception station 3 are directly connected by a public line network 5 via a public line connection section 2-5 and the priority information is sent with priority. |
