PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the error of a remaining battery capacity from increasing due to the error of a current sensor for detecting a battery current and to detect a remaining capacity accurately when charging and discharging (in traveling) are repeated when calculating the remaining battery capacity of an electric car with a battery as a power source. SOLUTION: A remaining capacity 1 (S14) that is detected based on a discharge current integration value is compared with a remaining capacity 2 (S45) that is detected based on an output power at the current point of a battery, thus determining the remaining capacity according to a comparison result. An output power at the current point depends on the remaining capacity at the current point. Therefore, since it is estimated that the remaining capacity 1 has a large error as the remaining capacity after repeating a charging/ discharging cycle, the remaining capacity can be accurately detected by selecting the remaining capacity 2. |
