<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve lake and march environments and at the same time obtain lake and marse water with a quality high enough to be used as tap water by immobilizing and propagating a colony of microbe containing filiform microbe in a natural fixing agent and bringing the colony of microbe into contact with lake and marsh water. SOLUTION: A natural adsorptive substrate such as woody small pieces, porous pumice as an adsorbent for filiform microbe is put in a proper container and then the filiform microbe is stuck to or adsorbed on the substrate. Alternatively, the filiform microbe is previously adsorbed on such a substrate and the substrate is put in a container. The container is installed and fixed in the lake and marsh water or in the peripheral part of the lake and marsh to bring the container into contact with the lake and marsh and remove pollutants such as BOD, COD, nitrogen, phosphorus in the water. The filiform microbe assimilates preferably water soluble substance even in low BOD concentration and at the same time absorbs and removes also nitrogen and phosphorus which are causes of eutrophication.</p> |
