PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device small in the number of parts and excellent in control characteristics to temperature change with simple configuration by using a laser diode as a temperature sensor. SOLUTION: This device has a laser control means 10 for making drive current flow, generating light beams and controlling a light output, a monitor means 12 for monitoring the drive current of a laser diode, an optical head device 2 for irradiating a disk with light beams and making an object lens track in the direction of focus tracking by driving an objective lens, an optical detecting means 8 for detecting the light output value of the laser diode 6, and a comparing means 14 for comparing the drive current value obtained from the monitor 12 with the light output value obtained from the optical detecting means 8. In this case, by switching the control characteristic and recording characteristic of an optical head device 2 based on the result of the comparing means 14, the change of environment temperature is detected by the laser diode 6, the control of the optical head device is stabilized, also stable recording characteristic can be obtained in laser control. |
