PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid an operation abnormality of a printer even when data without ensured correctness is used, by checking a first and a second contents constituted of a nonvolatile memory when a power source to the printer apparatus is turned on and, carrying out processing in accordance with the contents. SOLUTION: When a power source to a printer is turned on, data of a first and a second areas of an EEPROM 1708 are read out and copied to a WORK1 and a WORK2 of a DRAM 1703 respectively. Then, the data of the first area copied to the DRAM 1703 are added for every address and it is checked whether an added result (SUM1) is equal to a reference value (TH1). If the SUM1≠TH1 is held, the copied data of the second area are added for every address, and it is checked whether an added result (SUM2) is equal to a reference value (TH2). When the SUM2≠TH2 is held, the first area of the EEPROM 1708 is initialized and the reference value TH1 for the first area is updated. |
