PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the maximum density without the occurrence of reversal in density by incorporating 2 kinds of hydrazine compounds different in a contract enhancing degree in a silver halide emulsion layer or another hydrophilic colloidal layer. SOLUTION: This photosensitive material is provided on a support with the silver halide emulsion layer and the other hydrophilic colloidal layer and one of them containing 2 kinds of hydrazine compounds different in a contrast enhancing degree. The difference in this contrast enhancing degree means that the obtainedγvalues are different enough from each other. Silver halide grains contained in the emulsion has an average grain diameter of 0.05-0.15μm, and contain silver chloride in an amount of >=90 mol% and rhodium, ruthenium, or osmium in an amount of 1×10<-6> mol/mol-of-silver. If the average grain diameter of the silver halide grains is >=0.15μm, deterioration of the color tone of an image occurs and it is made difficult to obtain a high-contrast image having a cold black.
