When the high load areas and a specified period have been passed, a stop means 40 stops calculation ofαand, after the high load areas and a specified period have been passed, a calculation means 37 corrects a basic injection amount using the learned values in high load areas so as to obtain the fuel injection amount. Thus, even when the flow characteristics of those parts related to fuel injection vary in high load areas and those areas other than these areas, the air fuel ratio can be controlled to a theoretical air fuel ratio while suppressing surge from occurring in high load areas.
