PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyether ester which can impart excellent antistatic performances to e.g. an acrylic resin when added thereto by selecting a polyether ester containing a specified proportion of a polyether component comprising polyoxyalkylene glycol segments of a specified molecular weight in the molecule and having a specified relative viscosity and a carboxyl content in a specified range. SOLUTION: This ester is one containing 20-65 wt.% polyoxyalkylene glycol having a number-average molecular weight of 400-20,000, having a relative viscosity of 1.5-4 (as measured in m-cresol at 30 deg.C) and having a carboxyl content of 0.1-15×10<-6> eq/g. The constituent dicarboxylic acid component is based on an 8-20 C aromatic dicarboxylic acid and constitutes 20-65 wt.%. The constituent polyhydric alcohol constitutes 5-30 wt.% and is based on a diol component partially replaced by e.g. a triol. These constituents are polycondensed with each other to obtain a polyether ester having an average-molecular weight of 50,000-200,000. |
