PURPOSE:To prevent the peeling and scattering of a bag cover by forming a fragile section in a nearly H-shape with a horizontal fragile section extended in the horizontal direction and two vertical fragile sections provided on both the right and left end sections respectively and setting the rigidity at the end section of the fragile section higher than the rigidity at other portions of the fragile section. CONSTITUTION:When a car collides and an air bag device is operated and an air bag 21 is inflated, a thin section 40 formed between lateral grooves 41a and 41b on the front and the rear is ruptured by the expansion pressure, a bag cover 25 is vertically divided, thin sections formed between vertical grooves 42a and 42b and between 43a and 43b on the front and the rear are ruptured respectively, and the cover 25 is vertically opened. Only the grooves 42b and 43b on the rear side are provided at terminal sections of vertical fragile sections 42 and 43, the rigidity of terminal sections of the vertical fragile sections 42 and 43 is made higher than the rigidity of other portions within a fragile section 40, the bag cover 25 is prevented from being ruptured across the terminal sections of the vertical fragile sections 42 and 43 by the inertial force at the time of deployment, and the peeling and scattering of the cover 25 are effectively prevented. |
