PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of pollution of a supercharger compressor and an inter cooler by opening a first valve of an exhaust re-circulation passage so as to lead a part of the exhaust gas into a combustion chamber, and thereafter, closing a second valve of an outlet of the combustion chamber, and igniting the exhaust gas inside of the combustion chamber with an igniting device. SOLUTION: At the time of operating an exhaust re-circulation type engine, when an intake valve 151 is opened and a part of the exhaust of an engine 6 is led from an exhaust re-circulation passage 10 into a combustion chamber 12, the intake valve 151 and the exhaust re-circulation valve 11 are closed, and spark discharge of the exhaust gas inside of the combustion chamber 12 is performed by an ignition plug 14. The fuel, which is left as it is not burned, in the exhaust gas inside of the combustion chamber 12 is ignited by the spark discharge, and re-combustion is performed in the combustion chamber 12 having a constant volume, which is sealed by closing the intake valve 151 and the exhaust re-circulating valve 11, and pressure inside of the combustion chamber 12 is raised. Continuously, the exhaust re-circulation valve 11 is opened, and the re-circulated exhaust gas inside of the combustion chamber 12 and the exhaust re-circulation passage 10 is supplied into a suction pipe 7, and thereafter, enters into a cylinder 8 with the intake air for re-combustion. |
