PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a dark line caused by the axis of a cross dichroic prism inconspicuous. SOLUTION: As for an optical path polarizing means, an optical path polarizing part 180b is arranged so that an optical path where the partial luminous fluxes of third and fourth rows from the top row of the partial luminous fluxes nearly arranged along the same line direction pass through is deflected from the optical path of the another luminous fluxes. The partial luminous flux passing through the part 180b illuminates an illuminating area 5571a shifted in the -x direction with respect to an illuminating area 5561a by another partial luminous fluxes. On the other hand, an optical path deflecting part has a structure that an optical path deflecting part 180b is turned upside-down, so that the partial luminous flux passing through the part 180b illuminates an illuminating area 5581a shifted in the +x direction with respect to the area 5561a. Thus, the dark line caused by the axis of the cross dichroic prism can be made inconspicuous. |
