PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to retrieve a final recording end position of a recording medium for each recording medium. SOLUTION: When a video-recording is ended, a main controller 300 receives a track number indicating a current position on a tape 20T at the time of ending the video recording from a mechanical controller 400. The main controller 300 controls a memory control part 700 to record the track number indicating the received current position (final recording end position) in a cassette memory 26 of a tape cassette. It becomes possible to search a video-recording end point for each cassette by using the track number recorded in this cassette memory 26.
