PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously handle a material and reduce production cost by preparing a non-porous three-layer precursor through the extrusion of a non- porous polyethylene precursor to a space between tow non-porous propylene precursors, jointing the three-layer precursor after concurrently jointing and annealing each layer, and then elongating the annealed three-layer precursor. SOLUTION: As an efficient method for manufacturing a three-layer battery separator, a layout 12 has an identical layout 12 laid thereon for the effective utilization of space. Also, propylene precursors are delivered from two-layer unwinding rolls 16 and 20. A polyethylene precursor is delivered from a two- layer unwinding roll 18 as well. Three-layer precursors 28 are thereby formed respectively and for the efficiency of manufacture, at least four three-layer precursors enter the next joint annealing process 30 (not shown) in parallel. The process 30 takes place in a multiple zone oven, capable of keeping different temperature in each zone. Thereafter, the precursors are elongated for forming a micro-porous structure and completed after a relaxation process. |
