PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a failure in attracting a recording material to a transfer material carrier, caused by the staining of an image and the sticking of carriers by preventing fogging and the sticking of the carriers. SOLUTION: The dark part potential of an image carrier, when a different bias is applied to a primary electrifier is detected by a surface potential detecting means and a bias applied to the primary electrifier 2 is controlled to make the dark part potential a fixed one. Then, in a controlled state for the fixed dark part potential, the bright part potential of the image carrier, when exposure is attained on a different exposure condition by an exposure means is detected by the surface potential detecting means and the exposure condition is controlled to make the bright part potential a fixed one. |
