PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel antibiatic diperamycin that is obtained by culturing a microorganism capable of producing dipelamycin in an enriched culture medium and has antimicrobial activity against gram-positive bacteria including methicillin-resistant microorganisms and has antitumor activity. SOLUTION: This is a novel antibiotic substance, dipelamycin represented by the formula and shows antimicrobial activity against gram-positive bacteria including methicillin-resistant microorganisms, gram-positive Enterococcus seriolicida that is a troublesome microorganism in breeding of yellowtails in sea water and antitumor activity and is useful as an active ingredient for antimicrobial agent and an antitumor agent.
