RESTORATION OF EDIBLE PLANT TO GREEN COLOR OR RETENTION THEREOF IN GREEN COLOR AND COLOR FORMER PACK USED FOR THE SAME METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preserve a browned edible plant in a green color for a long period without deteriorating the texture by restoring the edible plant to the green color of an excellent color tone and treating the edible plant for the green color. SOLUTION: This method for restoring an edible plant to a green color or retaining the edible plant in the green color comprises bringing the faded edible plant into contact with a solution containing a metallic ion and restoring the green color of the edible plant by the actions of the metallic ion or retaining the edible plant in the green color. In the method, a tree and plant ash is dipped in a solution to elute the metallic ion contained in the tree and plant ash into the solution to provide a solution containing the metallic ion. Besides the tree and plant ash, a calcium compound capable of adding calcium ion to the solution when dissolved therein is added to the solution. The edible plant is restored in the green color or retained in the green color with the heated solution containing the tree and plant ash and the calcium compound therein.
