PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of performing display with high contrast and bright display by effectively utilizing external light (light made incident on the liquid crystal display device) while keeping a viewing angle wide. SOLUTION: As to this reflection type liquid crystal display device; a front side polarizing plate 2 and a back side polarizing plate 3 are formed as a polarizing plate on both sides of a liquid crystal cell 1. A reflector 4 is formed outside the plate 3 and a light scattering plate 5 is formed outside the plate 2, besides, a lens film 6 is formed between the plates 2 and 5. Thus, the lens film 6 is formed as a light converting layer, so that the light made incident on the liquid crystal display device from various directions is converted and made perpendicularly incident on a liquid crystal layer; therefore, the bright display with the high contrast can be performed as a result. |
