PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit moving image data and still image data to a device on a communication system not via an edit device by generating the moving image data and the still image data, applying time division multiplex processing to the generated data within a prescribed communication cycle period and providing an output. SOLUTION: Moving image data outputted from a video signal processing circuit 6 are stored in a still image memory 13 that records a moving image in the unit of several frames, a compression/expansion circuit 7 applies compression processing to the data and records the result to a moving image memory 15. The moving image data stored in the moving image memory 15 are sent synchronously to an external device and the still image data stored in a still image memory are multiplexed on the moving image data transmitted synchronously in time division as required and the multiplexed data are transmitted. Thus, a camcorder 101 makes synchronous communication of moving image data to each external device on a 1394 serial bus and communicates asynchronously still image data to a designated communication destination. |
