PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic-glass optical fiber which is small in transmission loss, large in the band width, and easy in manufacture. SOLUTION: A plastic-glass optical fiber is provided with a clad consisting of the polymer, a first core consisting of polymer arranged on the inner side of the clad, and a second core consisting of glass arranged on the inner side of the first core, the ratio (X=D2/D1) of the diameter (D2) of the second core to the diameter (D1) of the first core is 0.3<=X<=0.95, the ratio of (Y=Δ2/Δ1) of the differential refractive index (Δ2) between the first core and the clad to the differential refractive index (Δ1) between the second core and the clad is 0.4<=Y<=0.95, and the total (X+Y) of two ratios is 1<=X+Y<=1.9. |
