PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter capable of preventing the sag of each color pixel of a color filter layer, capable of improving the relative positional relationship between R, G and B pixels and their pattern accuracy, free from color bleeding or color irregularities, and having a structure to easily cope with the increase in size, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A black matrix 2 is of double-layered structure comprising a lower metallic film 21 and an upper layered photosensitive resin film 22, and generation of the sag of each pixel 31 is prevented by forming a wall body to partition each pixel 31 of a color filter layer 3 by the photosensitive resin film 22, and a pattern of each pixel 31 is made to follow the pattern of the black matrix. In forming the black matrix, the process is simplified by patterning the metallic film 21 through etching where the patterned photosensitive resin film 22 is masked, and performing the selective coating of the color filter layer 3 while leaving the mask. |
