The key has a bit (3) running lengthwise with an opening (22) running through the bit. There is a button (30) in the opening which can move freely in translation in the transverse direction (23). The opening is at right angles to the direction in which the button can move. There is a pin (28) which passes through the opening and a slot (54,57) for the pin in the button. The pin holds the button against stops at the end positions for the button. The pin passes through the middle of the opening and the slot in the button surrounds the pin.The button extends beyond the bit on one side or the other. The slot is a cylindrical bore around an axis (31) at right angles to the transverse axis. The slot may also be oblong.
