<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger which usually keeps a battery at a proper capacity without shortening the life of the battery and prevents a failure in start-up of a diesel engine. SOLUTION: When a start signal of a diesel engine 1 which drives a generator for emergency is transmitted to a discharge amount calculating section 13 of a charger 5, the discharge amount calculating section 13 calculates the discharge amount of a battery 4 in start-up and, after the start-up, the battery 4 is charged by the same amount as the discharge amount of the battery in start-up calculated by the discharge amount calculating section 13, thereby keeping the battery at a proper capacity at all times.</p> |
