PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize an operation by sending decided test data outputted from an MPU to a reception buffer, sending transmission data outputted from a transmission buffer to the MPU and comparing test data with transmission data. SOLUTION: Test cell data A15 for one cell is written into the reception FIFO 102, and a read permission test signal A19 is outputted to a reception FIFO read control means 103. The means 103 reads cell data A05 from the FIFO 102 and stores it in a common buffer 105. Stored cell data are read and compared through the MPU and therefore it is recognized whether the means 103 normally operates or not. Test cell data A27 are stored in the buffer 105 and polling result test data A23 and a polling valid timing signal A24 are outputted to an SW core 104. Cell data are read and stored in the transmission FIFO 109. Then, it is read and compared with stored data through the MPU and therefore a control means 108 recognizes the normal operation.
