Installation for producing flat electrical cables with stranded conductors as used in data transmission

The electrical cables produced having a large number of conductor strands. Emission stations (11) for the strands (B1....Bi) issue them in quantities corresponding to those of the conductors of the flat cable (C) to be produced. Downstream of the emission stations is an alignment device (13) and downstream of this device is an extrusion device (14) which receives the aligned strands on which it extrudes the cable insulation. This extrusion station is fed with insulating plastic material (15). A cooling device (16) is positioned downstream of the extrusion device (14) and cools the extruded insulating material, fixing it in position. A pulling capstan (17) receives the finished flat cable, pulling it together with its constituent strands through the installation at constant speed. A main reel provides the central strand along the emission axis and an auxiliary reel carries all the peripheral strands.
