PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color point corresponding method to improve the quality of the result of correspondence. SOLUTION: A color point P which is a corresponding source is selected from among color points belonging to a color cube (It) of a target device (S22). A color plane ω that passes through the color point P and includes an L*-axis with respect to color cubes (It), (Is) of a target device and a simulate device (S22). A cross planer area Jt where an equi-color phase plane ω and the color cube (It) of the target device cross with each other and a cross planar area Js, where the equi-color phase plane ωand the color cube (Is) of the simulate device cross with each other (S26). A reference point Q is set based on color points, denoting the characteristic of the shape of the cross planar area in the equi-color phase plane ω (S28). A distance Dqp from the reference point Q to a color point P' is obtained based on a distance Dqp from the reference point Q to the color point P (S30-S38). The color point P is made corresponding to the color point P' (S40). Similarly, other reference point Q is set, depending on the shape of the cross planar area in the equi-color phase plane ω and other color point which becomes a corresponding source. |
