PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounter and a mounting method in which a component can be mounted with high accuracy by correcting the position accurately when the component is mounted at a specified position. SOLUTION: A component mounting head section 1 comprises a rotary shaft 11 for supporting a component sucking section 9 provided with a nozzle 2 at the end part thereof, a magnetic bearing 12 for supporting the rotary shaft 11, means 13 for detecting the radial position of the rotary shaft 11, a servo motor 14 for controlling rotation of the rotary shaft 11, and recognition cameras 16a, 16b for picking up the images of a component 3 sucked to the component sucking part 9 and a specified mounting position on a board simultaneously. After the component mounting head section 1 is positioned roughly, positional shift between the component 3 and the specified mounting position is measured and processed. Subsequently, the position only at the component sucking section 9 is corrected in the horizontal direction by means of the magnetic bearing 12 and rotational position is corrected by means of the servo motor 14 thus mounting the component with high accuracy. |
