PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize an equalization capability of a waveform equalizer to the utmost by detecting a produced amount of deep fading on the occurrence of the fading in a transmission channel and limiting a correction amount of an amplitude distortion equalizer based on the result. SOLUTION: A control signal 105 (104) of a primary (secondary) amplitude distortion equalizer 2 (1) is limited by a control circuit 9 (8) that receives a signal 102b (102a) from a controller 12 respectively. The controller 12 applies complementary limit control to control signals 104, 105 in response to a detection level of a prescribed frequency area component of an input signal. For example, the controller 12 places no limit on the control signal 105 for the primary amplitude distortion equalizer 2 when no fading exists or the frequency of the fading is at the outside of a resonance frequency band of the secondary amplitude distortion equalizer 1 but places limit on the control signal 104 of the secondary amplitude distortion equalizer 1. On the contrary case, it is controlled so as to have the opposite control operation. |
