PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly precisely detect a light signal which is wavelength- multiplexed regardless of the amount of the number of wavelength multiplex by detecting the level of a wavelength multiplex light signal in a form where levels for the respective light signals having different wavelengths are detected. SOLUTION: An optical amplifier 100 has an optical amplifier 10 amplifying the wavelength multiplex light signal obtained by wavelength-multiplexing the light signals having n-pieces of wavelengths λ1 -λn , which are inputted from an input port 80, and outputting it from an output port 90 and a light signal detection means. The light signal detection means is provided with an optical branching unit 20 for branching a part of the wavelength multiplex light signal amplified by the optical amplifier 10, an optical demultiplexer 30 demultiplexing a part of the branched wavelength multiplex light signal into n-pieces of light signals, a light-receiving part 40 detecting n-pieces of demultiplexed light signals and a level detection circuit 50 detecting the receptive levels of n-pieces of detected light signals. The optical amplification device 100 can highly precisely detect the light signals which are wavelength-multiplexed regardless of the amount of the number (n) of wavelength multiplex. |
