PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the influence of constituents other than a substrate that coexists in an organism constituent by applying a voltage between the operation electrode and the counter electrode of a bio sensor for a specific amount of time and detecting a current response. SOLUTION: In a quantitative method, a bio sensor with an electrode system that consists of an operation electrode 4 and a counter electrode 5 being formed on an electrically insulated substrate 1 and a reaction layer 8 containing at least an oxidation reduction enzyme and an electron receptor is used. Then, the change in a substance concentration when a substrate in a sample reacts with the oxidation reduction enzyme and the electron receptor can be detected based on a current response being obtained by applying a voltage between the operation electrode 4 and the counter electrode 5. The voltage is applied for one second or more and less than five seconds, and a current response after this amount of time is detected, thus eliminating a problem where the response characteristics of a sensor differ due to the difference between men and women and the difference in the amount of red cells due to a personal difference even if the concentration of substrate in blood is the same in the bio sensor. |
