The invention concerns a method for sampling perfume, characterised in that it consists in proposing to a user a choice among a multiplicity of fragrances constituting perfumes, in automatically selecting, on the basis of the user's choice, at least one fragrance and automatically delivering at least one sample consisting of a band (10) strip (12) impregnated with said fragrance. The device comprises an interactive terminal (1-4, 7) communicating with the user, a housing (8) storing bands (10) each impregnated with one or several fragrances constituting a perfume and a member (15) conveying and delivering a sample formed of an impregnated band strip (12), said member being capable of moving inside the housing, between devices (9) storing bands and a zone (21) for delivering samples.
