PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly process into a printing plate form a digital data and to make special treatment such as wet development and rubbing unnecessary after exposure by incorporating a polymer compd. having functional groups which produce sulfonic acid by heating. SOLUTION: This heat-sensitive image forming material contains a polymer compd. having functional group which produce sulfonic acid by heating. It is preferable that the heat-sensitive image forming material contains photo-thermal convertible material. A recording layer containing the polymer compd. having functional groups which produce an acid by heating is formed on a base. By using the lithographic printing master plate thus produced, a lithographic printing plate on which printing is possible without dissolving treatment after exposure can be obtd. Namely, by using heat produced by irradiation of IR ray laser or by heating with a thermal head, sulfonic acid is produced and the heated part is made highly hydrophilic. Thus a good positive image can be obtd. without a developing process.
