PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planographic printing plate capable of sensing the visible lights and forming a printing plate directly from digital data through various laser beams, and developable with water or unnecessary for development and superior in heat stability. SOLUTION: This planographic printing plate is provided on a substrate with a photo- or thermo-sensitive layer comprising a polymer compound having specified structures on the side chains and an acid precursor responsive to light or heat, and the side chains of this polymer have terminal groups selected from ester, ketal, thioketal, acetal, and tertiary alcohol groups, and a group adjacent to these terminal groups to be decomposed and allowed to generate a sulfonic acid by decomposition of these terminal groups, preferably, having the structure represented by the formula:-SO3 -L-W<1> in which W<1> is an acid- decomposable group selected from ester, ketal, thioketal, acetal, and tertiary alcohol groups; and L is a bonding group to be decomposed by decomposition of W<1> and necessary to combine this structural unit represented by this formula with the polymer structures. |
