MULTI-CAST COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND ATM CELL CONVERTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize multi-cast service in a terminal connected to an ATM network by means of simplex communication by giving a different asynchronous transfermode(ATM) identifier to the internet protocol(IP) address of a class D and outputting a join message and a report message. SOLUTION: The join message of an internet group management protocol(IGMP) for managing a member from an ATM cell converting device 3 to a multi-cast router 2 and an IGMP report message is outputted to the inquiry message of IGMP from the multi-cast router 2 so that multi-cast IP data is continuously received. The ATM cell identifier is registered in an IP address in order to enable executing one-direction ATM network multi-casting and received multi-cast IP data is made cell so as to be transmitted to the ATM network.
