The metal door (1) in folded and welded sheet steel comprises a first part forming a compartment (2) made from a first sheet. The longitudinal edges of this sheet are each folded twice to form the compartment external wall (6). Two edges perpendicular to the bottom and two folds parallel to the bottom extend towards each other. A second part (11) formed from a second flat sheet (12) is fixed into the folds to form the second main wall of the door. The door has split hinges welded along the longitudinal edges of the compartment bottom so that the door external wall opens outwards and the door internal wall (17) opens inwards. The door, after assembly, is chemically treated, after which a motorised electrical lock is built in.
