The electro-optical printing process has an array of light emitting devices 22 that have the output directed through an optical unit 52 and onto the surface of a photo sensitive drum 14 . The optical element is mounted in a carrier 50 and this is supported on an eccentric bush 56 that has an adjusting screw 68 and an elastomer pad with a second adjusting screw 76. The two screws allow the optical stage to be tilted and moved sideways.
