The invention relates to a method for checking the reliability of nominal position indications on the basis of propagation time measurements characterized in that the measured redundancy of available measuring values is increased using inertial systems. To this end, the dimension of the nominal system measuring matrix (G) is increased to an advantageous extent. The inventive method is particularly suitable for hybrid inertial/satellite navigation systems.
