Combustion chamber seal unit with high recovery rate for IC engine

The combustion chamber unit has a main seal body with a fluid passage, which is defined by an inner circumference of the body and extends in a longitudinal axial direction. A spiral component (28) is press-fitted into the passage and extends radially inwards from the inner body circumference. The spiral component is a wound metal band, and a cross section of the band has two longitudinal ends and a curved mainly U-shaped central section which extends radially outwards. The whole component is preloaded radially outwards to engage with the inner circumference.
